micro1 interview results, decoded: what each Talent Dashboard status means, the waits micro1 publishes, and what you can do while you wait.
Your micro1 interview results arrive in two stages. When the Zara interview ends, micro1 says you see a real-time result showing whether you met its certification criteria. After that, each application moves through statuses on your Talent Dashboard, and only two come with a published clock: "Under review" takes up to 48 hours and "Hiring manager reviewing" up to 30 days. Passing adds you to a talent pool, but micro1 says this does not guarantee a placement and that the rest has no fixed timeline.
This page picks up where our guide to how the micro1 Zara AI interview works leaves off. It follows micro1's help library, candidate FAQ and terms as we read them on 27 October 2026. Those pages are written for micro1's own expert network, so if another company used Zara to screen you, that company's recruiter is the person to ask about next steps.
Your first micro1 interview result: certified or not
micro1's AI interview guide promises "a real-time result indicating whether you meet micro1's global certification criteria", with the option to request feedback if you fall short. Certification, in micro1's words, puts you in the certified talent pool, makes you eligible for pipeline opportunities and invitations, and lets you track every application on the Talent Dashboard.
Two tasks are then yours. micro1 asks you to complete your profile and verify your identity with a third-party provider, scanning an original, unexpired passport, driver's license or national ID and taking a selfie. English and Arabic IDs are typically verified within minutes, other languages can take up to 72 hours of manual review, and a name that matches the one on your application avoids delays. You become eligible to be matched only after this step, so a stalled verification is the one early delay you can fix yourself, through verification@micro1.ai.
Reading the Talent Dashboard, one status at a time
micro1 lists ten statuses, and each belongs to one application rather than to you, so you can be under review for one role and on hold for another at the same time.
These statuses mean an application is still moving:
- "Interview pending" means micro1 has received your application but the interview is missing.
- "Awaiting next steps" means micro1 is preparing the next step and will notify you soon, without giving a date.
- "Under review" means recruiters are reviewing your interview, which micro1 says can take up to 48 hours.
- "Hiring manager reviewing" means you performed well and your profile is under human review in the vetted pool, for up to 30 days and with no guarantee of placement.
- "Hiring on hold" means hiring for that role is paused, and micro1 will update you if it resumes.
These statuses close an application, and they mean quite different things:
- "Selected" means micro1 has emailed you the onboarding steps for that position.
- "Not selected" means you performed well but were not chosen, and you may still be considered for future roles.
- "Did not qualify" means you did not meet that role's criteria, though micro1's team may still contact you about another role and you can request feedback.
- "Application incomplete" means the interview was never finished and the role has closed, while "Not interested" means you declined.
The pair worth separating is "Not selected" and "Did not qualify": one follows an interview micro1 says went well, the other a miss on that role's criteria, and micro1 offers detailed feedback only for the second. "Hiring manager reviewing" is closer to a shortlist than an offer, because micro1 says its hiring manager will select the best-fit candidates.
How long micro1 takes to respond
micro1 publishes four time windows after the interview: a real-time certification result, up to 48 hours under review, minutes to 72 hours for ID verification and up to 30 days of hiring manager review. Beyond those, its dashboard page says there is no fixed timeline, because each step depends on project needs, hiring timelines and the role. That is more than Mercor publishes: our page on hearing back after a Mercor interview explains that Mercor gives no fixed number of days for a response after its AI interview.
Candidate reports show what the longer waits can look like. An Annotation Academy analysis of Reddit discussion, updated on 26 October 2026, counted eight accounts across six threads describing up to 30 days in "Hiring Manager Reviewing" followed by "Not Selected", and seven accounts across five threads describing months without placement. These are individual reports, not micro1 statements, and they cannot show how common the experience is, but they support treating that status as a queue for one role rather than a verdict on you.
If you are selected
Selection arrives by email, which micro1's onboarding page says directs you to your talent portal to review the offer and accept or decline it. Accepting opens a mostly self-serve checklist, and each step explains what to do and how long micro1 expects its own part to take. Declining is safe, because micro1's FAQ says rejecting an offer has "no bearing on future offers".
micro1's pipeline guide then lists a services agreement, a Karma Check background check that another project may ask you to repeat, access to Slack, an expert email and the work platform, and pipeline training that can include quizzes or test tasks. Your contract arrives through Deel, where payroll is set up, and our page on micro1 jobs, pay and whether it is legit covers contract types and the pay schedule.
micro1's library does not describe a client interview for pipeline roles, although its 2025 paper on Zara, co-authored by micro1 staff, says candidates who excel "progress to subsequent human interview rounds". Ask whether your role includes one rather than assuming either way.
If you did not qualify or were not selected
For "Did not qualify", open the application on the Talent Dashboard and request detailed feedback, which micro1 sends by email. micro1's 2025 paper describes what that email contains: two to three strengths, two to three areas to improve, and nothing on soft skills or communication, which it deliberately leaves out, so check your delivery another way, for example with the out-loud rehearsal in our micro1 interview preparation guide. The same paper reports that only 10.7% of 4,820 unsuccessful interviews over three days led to a feedback request, so asking already puts you among the minority who learn what to fix.
None of the micro1 help library, candidate FAQ or candidate terms states a retake rule for the same role, an attempt limit or a waiting period. What micro1 does publish is skill reuse: when you apply to a new role, Zara compares it with the skills you have already certified and can skip those, assess only the missing ones or skip the interview entirely, labelling the application "Fast-Track" or "Partial interview". Only interviews completed after July 2025 that met the certification criteria count, so our reading is that an uncertified skill is assessed again on your next application that needs it.
micro1's expert support program, written for people already working as experts, lists "The right to appeal" a decision, a rejection included, through "a defined path" it does not describe. If you think a technical fault or an error affected your result, write to support@micro1.ai and ask whether that route covers your application and how it works.
What you can control while you wait
micro1 says certification "does not guarantee immediate placement" and that access depends on project requirements and availability. Within that limit, its candidate FAQ points to things that are yours to do:
- Add detailed descriptions of your experience to your profile, since micro1 says human recruiters match experts on verified skills and project requirements.
- Certify additional skills, which micro1 says can increase the range of opportunities you may be considered for.
- Keep your availability current in your profile settings, because your profile stays active for future projects.
- Apply directly to open roles on the Opportunities Portal instead of waiting only for invitations.
- Check that messages about your application come from @micro1.ai, @micro1.io or @micro1.co, the domains micro1 lists as official.
Our view is that each profile entry should read like the answer to a recruiter's search, naming the domain, tools, level and one concrete piece of work. As an illustration we wrote, "Backend engineer, Python and PostgreSQL, five years, rebuilt the retry logic for a payments service" gives a recruiter far more to match than "experienced software developer". What you cannot control is whether a client has work in your specialism this month, so keep other applications going rather than waiting on one status.
Using the wait to practise for the next Zara interview
micro1's candidate terms say you will "answer all interview questions without any third-party assistance, except where explicitly permitted by your interviewer or the interview instructions", so whatever you rehearse with belongs in the days between one Zara interview and the next. If your feedback email named weak areas, or a role you want needs a skill you have not certified, save those topics as questions in your Verve AI Question Bank and run them as a Custom Questions session in AI Mock Interview. You answer aloud, your responses are transcribed so you can read back what you said, and each session ends with a detailed performance report with personalized feedback and scoring, so a weak skill gets rehearsal before Zara assesses it again.
FAQ
How long does micro1 take to respond after the interview?
micro1 says the certification result appears in real time when the interview ends. An application under review can then take up to 48 hours, and "Hiring manager reviewing" can last up to 30 days. The other statuses have no fixed timeline, and your Talent Dashboard is where updates appear.
Does passing the micro1 interview mean I have a job?
Passing does not mean you have a job. It certifies your skills and adds you to micro1's talent pool, and micro1 says certification does not guarantee immediate placement. A role is confirmed only when the status changes to "Selected" and the onboarding email arrives.
Can I retake the micro1 interview after a rejection?
The micro1 help library, candidate FAQ and candidate terms state no retake rule, attempt limit or waiting period for the same role. It reuses certified skills from interviews completed after July 2025 that met its criteria, so a later application may skip skills you already passed. Our reading is that skills you have not certified are assessed again when a new role needs them.
What is the difference between "Not selected" and "Did not qualify"?
"Did not qualify" means you did not meet that role's criteria, and you can request detailed feedback from the dashboard. "Not selected" means you performed well but were not chosen for that position. In both cases micro1 says you may still be considered for other roles.
