Verve AI vs LockedIn AI compared on stealth by plan, follow-up questions, reliability, refunds and price, with what reviewers complain about.
Verve AI vs LockedIn AI is a comparison between two products that look alike on a feature list, since each has a desktop app, a coding copilot, mock interviews and a choice of AI models. The questions candidates bring to it are more practical than that list: whether the plan they are about to buy keeps the tool hidden during screen sharing, whether it will keep working through a long interview, and what they can do if it does not.
We wrote this for job seekers who are choosing between the two and want those questions answered side by side. It summarizes what LockedIn AI's customers complain about, then takes the common concerns about interview copilots one at a time and shows how each product handles them, with price near the end. We make Verve AI, so weigh our view accordingly; what we say about LockedIn AI comes from its own website, documentation and policies and from public reviews as they stood in October 2026.
What do Verve AI and LockedIn AI have in common?
Both products listen to a live interview, transcribe it and suggest answers drawn from your resume, the job description and documents you upload. Both run as a desktop app on Mac and Windows and in the browser, both have an iPhone app, and both support coding interviews, online assessments and practice interviews with a report afterwards. Each lets you pick from several AI models.
With that much in common, the differences that matter are in which plan includes what, and in how each product behaves when an interview does not go to plan.
What do people complain about with LockedIn AI?
LockedIn AI's reviews are positive on balance, with a Trustpilot score of 3.8 out of 5 from 120 reviews, about two thirds of them five-star and just under a quarter one-star, and the company replies to nearly all of its negative reviews, usually within a couple of days. Satisfied reviewers praise the speed of the answers and the help they received from support.
The critical reviews return to the same few problems. Refused refunds are the most common, followed by the tool stopping or cutting out in the middle of an interview, renewal charges that the reviewer did not expect, the price, and answers that were generic or did not use the documents they had uploaded. One reviewer describes buying the General plan, discovering that it had no Stealth Mode, and then paying again for a different plan.
That last complaint points at the thing to understand first about LockedIn AI, which is how its plans divide up the features.
Will the interviewer see it when you share your screen?
Both desktop apps are designed to stay out of a shared screen, and the difference is in who gets that feature.
LockedIn AI's Stealth Mode is part of its Professional, Credits and Lifetime plans. It is not included in the free plan or in the General plan, which is the lowest-priced unlimited subscription and the one the pricing page shows first. Stealth Mode works in the desktop app only, and its documentation lists the supported setup as the desktop apps of Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, describes Teams in a browser as a known gap where it can be visible, and recommends a dry run before every interview.
The Verve AI desktop app runs outside the screen-share layer at the operating-system level, so the interviewer does not see it. Our documentation states where that is guaranteed, which is window and tab sharing on any platform and full-screen sharing in the Zoom and Microsoft Teams desktop apps, and the app shows a "Stealth Mode: Active" indicator before you join. Stealth Mode is included on every plan, the free one among them, so there is no tier to check, and our guide to testing interview copilot stealth mode shows how to confirm it yourself.

Will it catch the question and answer in time?
LockedIn AI has an Auto mode, which answers after a pause, and a Manual mode, in which questions queue until you press a shortcut. Its support pages say Manual is now the default in the web app, partly to save credits, and a setting controls how long a pause counts as the end of a question, with the fastest option able to answer before the interviewer has finished.
Verve AI offers Auto and Manual as well, and adds Smart Listening, which holds a question that is still being asked and skips small talk, so that you do not have to choose between speed and complete answers. Its transcription was upgraded this year for technical terms and accents, and a shortcut makes an answer shorter or longer while you are speaking. There are three ways to get help in a session: automatic answers from the audio in real time, a built-in chatbot for typed questions, and a hotkey that captures the part of the screen you select.

Will it keep up with follow-up questions?
Interviewers build on the answers you give them. They ask why, ask for a second example, or come back twenty minutes later to something you mentioned in passing, and a suggestion that ignores that history is easy to spot.
This is where Verve AI is strongest, since it holds the context of the whole conversation, which means that follow-ups are answered with the earlier questions and your own answers in view. The audio, the chatbot and the screen capture share that context too, which means that a question you type, or a problem you capture, informs every answer after it.
In a coding round that looks like this: you capture the problem and get a solution, and when the interviewer asks aloud about its complexity, an edge case or a different approach, the copilot answers about that same code without a second capture.

LockedIn AI says that it remembers the interviewer's questions and your answers during a session and uses them for follow-ups, so it addresses the same need. Its screenshot shortcut captures the entire display, and its support pages say that code output is reliable in its separate Coding tab and not guaranteed in the Live tab, which is worth knowing if your interview mixes discussion and code.
Will the answers sound like you?
Generic answers are among the complaints about LockedIn AI, although its tools for personalizing answers are extensive. You can upload any number of documents, write a custom prompt, choose a scenario and prepare answers to expected questions in advance. The models available depend on the plan, with a lighter set on the free plan and the stronger ones on paid plans.
Verve AI builds answers from your resume, the job description, uploaded documents and your own stories in STAR format, which it uses in full when a behavioral question calls for one. Pro adds knowledge banks for 20 interview domains and our reasoning models, and the settings are deliberately few, so there is less to configure in the minutes before a call.
Will it hold up for the whole interview?
Sessions that stop partway are the second most common complaint in LockedIn AI's reviews, and its documentation describes several ways a session can end by itself. A session closes when it reaches its time limit, after a prompt that follows a long silence, or when the app is opened in a second place. Its terms also describe the service as being in an early phase of development, with possible interruptions.
Verve AI has worked on the failure cases directly. Transcription reconnects by itself after a brief network drop and tells you when it has, and an answer you are reading stays in place when a new one arrives. The free plan includes live sessions with Stealth Mode, so you can rehearse on the same computer and meeting app you will use on the day.
What if something goes wrong?
LockedIn AI's refund policy says monthly and quarterly subscriptions are non-refundable once they have started, with exceptions considered for duplicate charges or a charge after a confirmed cancellation. Support is by email, with stated hours on weekdays and a typical reply time of one to two business days, and reviewers who reached it generally speak well of it.
Verve AI's paid plans include email support and an in-app chat that goes directly to our support team. Our refund policy covers a technical problem on our side that stopped you using the product, or a subscription that was never used, and the free sessions let you find most problems before you pay.
How do the prices compare?
Prices are from LockedIn AI's pricing page, where the figures shown already include a 50% promotional code, and from our pricing page.
For unlimited sessions with Stealth Mode, LockedIn AI Professional is $119.99 a month, or $79.99 a month billed every three months, and Verve AI Pro is $84.99 a month, or $59.99 a month billed quarterly. LockedIn AI's General plan is $54.99 a month for unlimited sessions without Stealth Mode, and its Credits plan is $69.99 a month for 400 minutes of copilot time with Stealth Mode included.
On the free plans, LockedIn AI gives sessions of five minutes, up to an hour a day, without Stealth Mode. Verve AI gives three live sessions of 15 minutes, five mock interviews and Stealth Mode, with no card required.
Verve AI vs LockedIn AI: which one should you choose?
The Verve AI vs LockedIn AI choice comes down to how much you want to manage. LockedIn AI offers a great many settings and several plan types, and it suits someone who wants to tune every detail and will check carefully that the plan they pick includes the features they need.
Verve AI is the simpler arrangement for a live interview. Stealth Mode comes with every plan, the copilot follows the conversation through its follow-up questions, and unlimited sessions with Stealth Mode cost less each month.
