Is Sensei AI legit? Who is behind it, what its few reviews say, where its own pages disagree on refunds, and how Verve AI compares.
"Is Sensei AI legit" is a harder question to answer than it is for most interview copilots, because there is so little to go on. The product has a polished website and confident claims, but very few independent reviews, and the company says little about itself, so a careful buyer ends up reading the fine print to work out what they would be getting.
We wrote this for job seekers who are considering Sensei AI and would like that reading done for them. It covers who is behind the product, how it works, what the few public reviews say, where the company's own pages are unclear or disagree with one another, and how it compares with Verve AI on the points that matter in a live interview. We make Verve AI, so weigh our view accordingly; the facts about Sensei AI come from its own website, terms and tutorials and from public review pages in October 2026.
Is Sensei AI legit?
Sensei AI is a real, working product, in the form of a web app at senseicopilot.com that has been online since early 2024, it has a free plan you can use without a card, and it takes payment through Stripe. A blog post on its site names its founder and chief executive, and its home page says more than 11,000 job seekers have used it.
What is harder to establish is the company behind it. The terms and privacy policy refer only to "Sensei AI" and do not name a registered company or give an address, although the terms say they are governed by the law of Delaware. That does not mean anything is wrong, but it does mean you have less to rely on than usual if a dispute arises, which is worth weighing before you choose an annual plan.
How does Sensei AI work?
Sensei AI runs in the Chrome browser, which means that you join your interview in a browser tab, share that tab with Sensei so that it can hear the interviewer, and read its suggested answers in the Sensei tab. Its instructions for Zoom tell you to decline the Zoom app and join from the browser for this reason, and its site does not offer a desktop or mobile app.
It detects questions automatically and builds answers from your resume, the job description and a library of your own stories. A Chrome extension handles coding interviews by capturing the problem from the page, and that feature, along with the industry knowledge bases and style controls, is part of the paid plan.
What do Sensei AI reviews say?
There are not many reviews to read. Sensei AI's Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and had only a handful of reviews when we checked, all of them one-star and none with a reply from the company. Its Chrome extension has a small number of ratings that average below three stars out of five.
The complaints are about billing first, including duplicate charges and refunds that reviewers say they were promised and did not receive, then about support that did not respond, and then about the tool failing during a live interview. The favorable comments are mostly about the coding copilot's step-by-step explanations, and the testimonials on Sensei AI's own home page are positive, although they are signed with initials and cannot be checked.
A few reviews are too small a sample to judge a product by, and unhappy customers are always more likely to post than satisfied ones. What they do tell you is where to look closely, which is at the refund terms and the support channels.
What do Sensei AI's own pages say?
Three things in Sensei AI's published pages are worth knowing before you pay.
Its statements about refunds do not match one another. The FAQ on the home page says, "We do not offer refunds." The refund policy page says that annual subscribers who cancel within three days of a renewal may receive a partial refund, with one month charged and the remainder returned, and that monthly plans are refunded only in special circumstances. Requests are made through a form, and the company keeps the final decision.
Its description of the free plan also varies. The home page says free sessions last 15 minutes and can be restarted as often as you like, while the refund policy page describes them as 10-minute sessions. Either way, a free session will not cover a full interview without a restart.
Its claims and its terms point in different directions. The home page says the product is guaranteed to land your dream job and is fully undetectable, while the terms provide the service as is and make no promise about its results or reliability. Its privacy policy is a general template that does not mention interview audio or transcripts specifically, so it is worth asking how those are stored if that matters to you.
Can Sensei AI be detected?
Sensei AI says that video conferencing tools cannot detect it, and since it does not join the call as a participant, that is consistent with how it works. The more practical question is what the interviewer can see. Sensei AI runs in a browser tab, and its site does not claim that the tab is hidden when you share your own screen.
One of its own tutorials also explains that sharing the meeting tab with Sensei can display a notification banner that might alert the interviewer. The alternative it offers is an audio listener in its Chrome extension, which the tutorial describes as a beta feature for paying members.
How does Sensei AI compare with Verve AI?
Once you have an answer to "is Sensei AI legit," the more useful question is which tool suits the interviews you have coming up.
The largest difference between the two is the desktop app. Verve AI runs as an app on Mac and Windows that sits outside the screen-share layer, so the interviewer does not see it when you share your screen, and you can take the call in the Zoom or Teams app as usual. Stealth Mode is included on every plan, including the free one, so it can be tested before you pay.

Verve AI is also built around the conversation as a whole. It keeps the context of everything asked and answered so far, which is what makes its answers to follow-up questions fit, and it gives you three ways to get help that share that context: automatic answers from the audio, a chatbot for typed questions, and screen capture.
On price, Sensei AI PRO is $89 a month or $24 a month billed annually, and Verve AI Pro is $84.99 a month or $34.99 a month billed annually. And if something goes wrong, Verve AI's paid plans include email support and an in-app chat that reaches our support team directly.
Our Verve AI vs Sensei AI comparison goes through each of these in detail, and Is Verve AI legit? covers who makes our product and who it is for. You can also start on Verve AI's free plan and run three live sessions without entering a card.
FAQ
Is Sensei AI a scam?
Sensei AI is not a scam in the sense of taking money for nothing, since it is a working product with a free plan. The negative reviews it has describe billing disputes, refunds and unanswered support requests, and the company does not name a legal entity on its site, so it is sensible to start with the free plan or a monthly plan.
Is Sensei AI free?
Sensei AI has a free plan with short copilot sessions that you can restart, limited to its general interview track. The coding copilot, the industry knowledge bases and the customization settings are part of the PRO plan, which is $89 a month or $24 a month billed annually.
Does Sensei AI work with Zoom?
Sensei AI works with Zoom when you join the meeting from your browser, because it listens through a shared browser tab. Its instructions say to decline the prompt to open the Zoom app. Verve AI's desktop app works alongside the Zoom app itself.
Who owns Sensei AI?
Sensei AI's website names a founder and chief executive in a blog author profile. Its terms and privacy policy refer to "Sensei AI" without naming a registered company or address, and they state that Delaware law applies.
